U.S. Department of Labor Forms Alliance with Northeast Pennsylvania
Manufacturer and Employers Association into Promote Workplace Safety

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has signed a two-year alliance with all the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturer and Employers Association (NEPA MAEA) to encourage workplace safety and health into overall business workers and pupils entering the workforce in Northeast Pennsylvania.

The brand new alliance between OSHA’s Area Office at Wilkes-Barre along with the NEPA MAEA will concentrate on preventing exposure to emerging general business threats, and addressing hazard recognition and management applications. Alliance spouses may also encourage participants to develop or enhance illness and injury prevention programs, and instruct workers of the rights and employers of their responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act).

The OSHA Alliance Program promotes collaborative relationships with groups dedicated to employee safety and wellness. Alliance partners assist OSHA reach targeted audiences, like companies and employees in high-hazard businesses, providing them better access to office safety and health tools and data.

Under that the OSH Act of 1970, companies are accountable for providing safe and healthy workplaces for their workers. OSHA’s role is to help make sure such requirements for America’s functioning women and men by establishing and implementing standards, and providing instruction, instruction, and help.
